ACS Census Block Group Economic
Overview
The American Community Survey (ACS) is an ongoing survey that provides data every year -- giving communities the current information they need to plan investments and services. This dataset covers ACS census blockgroup-level data pertaining to economic characteristics of the U.S. population.
These data have been collected over the 5-year period 2015-2020. The primary advantage of using multi-year estimates is the increased statistical reliability of the data for less populated areas and small population subgroups.
The blockgroup is the smallest geographic unit for which ACS statistics are reported. Due to the small sample sizes within blockgroups, not all properties that are available at the state, county, or census tract levels are always available within the blockgroup.
